What to include in your message
- For Italian citizenship by descent: the line from your Italian ancestor to you, with years and places of birth, marriage and naturalisation as far as you know them, and whether a citizenship application has already been filed at an Italian consulate or in court.
- For the investor visa or the elective residence visa: the route you are considering, the Italian consulate for your place of residence, and the family members who would move with you.
- For a property purchase: the area, the stage you have reached, and whether a preliminary contract has already been signed.

An immigration lawyer in Italy, for clients who live abroad
Most of what our clients need happens in Italy: a citizenship application before an Italian consulate or municipality, a case before the Italian courts, a visa application at an Italian consulate, a residence permit at the Questura. Representation before the Italian courts requires a lawyer admitted to practise in Italy.
The firm is led by Marco Bersani, Avvocato (Bar of Verona) and Abogado ejerciente (Bar of Madrid). We handle the Italian side of the file ourselves and work alongside your own advisers, such as your CPA, on the questions that belong to your home country.

How much do your services cost?
It depends on the procedure and on the work involved. We quote our fee in writing, per file, before you engage us.
My great-grandparent was born in Italy. Can I still claim Italian citizenship?
Since the 2025 reform, the answer depends on the dates and on how your line is built, and it has to be checked case by case. Send us the line through the form and we will tell you in writing whether a route is still open.
Does Italian dual citizenship mean giving up my other citizenship?
Italian law does not require you to give up another citizenship when you are recognised as an Italian citizen by descent. Whether your other country allows dual citizenship is a question for its own law. Once your Italian citizenship is recognised, you can apply for an Italian passport.

Do you have offices outside Italy?
No. The firm has one office, in Verona. We act for clients abroad remotely, and appear before the Italian authorities and courts directly.
