Italian Citizenship and Visa Lawyers
We are an Italian law firm in Verona. We handle Italian citizenship by descent — including maternal lines before 1948, and files blocked at a consulate that gives no appointment — and the residence routes into Italy: the investor visa, the elective residence visa, the digital nomad visa. Most of our clients live in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, and none of them travels to Italy for this: a case is filed by us, under a power of attorney signed where you live.

- Tell us two facts: where you live, and where your Italian ancestor was born. The first decides your consulate, the second decides your tribunal.
- We read the line against the law as it stands today, and tell you in writing which condition applies to you — or that none does.
- You decide with the route, the documents and the costs in front of you. The first assessment costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
Citizenship, residence, and what comes after
Each area has its own page, where the rule is set out with the article of the law it comes from. Nothing below is a summary of a summary.
Italian citizenship by descent
Whether your line still qualifies after Law 74/2025 depends on five conditions in article 3-bis, and on the date your file or your appointment was made. The page sets out each of them with the text of the statute.
Read the page →1948 cases: the maternal line
A line that passes through a woman before 1 January 1948 cannot be recognised by a consulate. Only an Italian court can declare it, and that has been true since the Constitutional Court said so.
Read the page →Citizenship by marriage
Three years of marriage, halved by a child, a B1 certificate in Italian, a €250 fee and a legal term of twenty-four months, extendable to thirty-six.
Read the page →No appointment at your consulate
When the consulate that covers your address gives no date, the alternative is not another consulate: it is a tribunal, chosen by your ancestor’s birthplace. We keep a register of the decisions on this point.
Read the page →Investor visa (golden visa)
A residence route built on a qualifying investment in Italy, with the nulla osta obtained online before the visa. We handle both halves.
Read the page →Elective residence visa
For people who live on passive income. The decree asks for a dwelling and stable resources; each consulate asks for more, and we compare the ten US checklists line by line.
Read the page →Digital nomad visa
For remote workers and self-employed professionals with a foreign employer or clients, subject to income, insurance and experience requirements.
Read the page →Buying property in Italy
What the notary checks, and what nobody checks unless you ask: building compliance, cadastral conformity, and what a preliminary contract really binds you to.
Read the page →Flat tax for new residents
The lump-sum regime for foreign income, the 7% regime for pensioners in the south, and which one fits which set of numbers.
Read the page →Private client
Residence, succession and property questions for families with assets in more than one country.
Read the page →What you can expect, and what we will not promise
The first assessment is free and it is written. You send us the line and the dates through the form at the bottom of this page; a lawyer reads it and answers. We do not offer free calls, because a call cannot be re-read and because the answer to a citizenship question depends on documents, not on conversation. Consultations are booked and paid for; the form is the free channel, and every message gets an answer.
There is no telephone number on this site, and that is deliberate. A file is decided on what is written in it. Writing to us first means your case is read by a lawyer rather than triaged by whoever picks up.
We publish the decisions, including the ones that went the other way. Our two registers hold 65 tribunal decisions from 15 courts, read in full: 35 on consular delay and 30 on the maternal line before 1948. One of them is a refusal. A register that showed only victories would be advertising, not information.
We do not promise an outcome. No lawyer can, and in Italy an advocate who did would be breaching the rules of the profession. What we can tell you, before you spend anything, is whether your line has an argument — and when it does not, we say so.
The register of court rulings, for how tribunals are applying the 2025 reform, and the consular delay register, for what each court required as proof of a booking that never came.
If you would rather see the mechanics first, how we handle a file sets out who does what, in which order, and what each stage costs.
